Suncoast Barley Masher's IPA Smackdown
Welcome, and thank you for your interest in the Suncoast Barley Masher's IPA Smackdown! This is a one of kind specially focused IPA only competition and we are very excited to offer this competition to home brew community. Anyone is may enter, so long as their beer was brewed on home brew equipment. The brewing competition is sanctioned by the American Home brewers Association, and the AHA guidelines will be strictly followed. Three bottles of each entry are required with the appropriate informational labels attached. 12 oz. brown bottles are required. All identifying markers should be removed and labels should be attached using only rubber bands. You can register for the completion at Reggie Beer: Register HERE

All entries must be received no later than April 17th at 5pm. After that entries may not be accepted.

Entry Cost: $8.00
Styles for the Competition will include all beers from the following categories:
21A American IPA
22A Double IPA
21B Specialty IPA (Belgian, Black, Brown, Red, Rye, White, Session)
28B (Mixed Fermentation)
29A Fruit IPA.
Note the following:
For category 21B styles will be separated into separate categories so long as there are four or more entries for that substyle. For example, if we receive 5 Black IPAs we will have a separate medal round for Black IPA. If we have three or less entries we will judge those entries under 21B. So if there are 2 White IPAs and 1 Red IPA we will judge them under the same category and award medals for the best three beers in 21B.
Additionally you are free to enter beers under this category of any type so long as they are IPAs. This includes but is not limited to wood treated IPAs, smoked IPAs, spiced IPAs and so forth.
28B Mixed Fermentation is for any IPA brewed with Brett yeast.
29A is any IPA treated with fruit.
